Wisteria Witches

The Authors Porch Book Review

Give me a quirky character who says things at inappropriate times, and I’m in like Flynn. That’s what I got with the main character of Wisteria Witches.

I was the kid who’d rather have been a secret agent than do homework. My grandma was the unsung hero who fueled my sugar addiction with those early morning cinnamon roll rescues. Don’t get me wrong, I loved her to pieces, but those cinnamon rolls were like gold. My overactive imagination would turn her late nights into a high-stakes drama, complete with hostage negotiations and a daring rescue. I was the teenage mastermind behind it all, of course, complete with a mental dossier on every suspicious character in town. Yeah, I know, I was a weird kid.

Let’s not forget the obligatory swoon-worthy rescue by a mysterious, brooding stranger. Because, you know, every good rescue needs a love interest.

It’s a gift, this overactive imagination. Or a curse, depending on who you ask. I mean, who else would find the perfect comeback to a boring office meeting while staring at a stapler? My inner monologue is a constant battle between witty and inappropriate.

But hey, weird is the new black, right? And this book? It’s like discovering a kindred spirit. I’m convinced this author and I were separated at birth. So, here’s to embracing the quirky, the strange, and the downright bonkers. Because, as they say, a little weird never hurt nobody.

Wisteria Witches by Angela Pepper

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is like a cozy spellbinding potion with equal parts Charmed, Gilmore Girls, and a dash of Sabrina the Teenage Witch! I dove into this magical world headfirst, and let me tell you, it’s a delightful adventure.

When I started this book, I had no idea what bewitching brew I was about to sip, but the quirky charm of the main character cast an instant spell on me. Mix in a daughter who’s pure Gilmore Girls magic, and you have a recipe for heartwarming chaos that leaves you craving more.

Shifters, a mysterious town practically begging to be explored, and witty one-liners that had me snorting with laughter—this book has it all! It’s like a warm, fuzzy blanket with a side of intrigue. I couldn’t help but feel all giddy and light-hearted, but the sprinkle of mystery kept me on the edge of my seat.

The author has conjured up a world that’s so captivating, and I can’t wait to see where this enchanting journey takes us next. I’m already hooked, line and sinker!
