Dark Rise

Dark Rise Book Review

I happened upon Kim Richardson by chance a few years ago, and boy, am I glad I did because I haven’t been disappointed yet. I started with this series, and I’m moving on to a new series of hers soon. If you’re looking for a series to get lost in, this one and her others will blow your mind.

Since I was young, like a 15-year-old girl, I have loved fantasy, vampires, werewolves, and demon-type books and movies. Not necessarily the supernatural things that go bump in the night and scare you, but the ones where there is a hero or heroine who fights them. It’s more of a kick-ass badass thing, and some of them are your friends. Vampire Diaries, Buffy, Angel, and that type of thing are not horror movies.

Anywho, I have devoured these types of shows and books like there is no tomorrow, but although there are a plethora of these books, there isn’t a lot that can keep my attention, and there aren’t enough that are long series. Insert Kim Richardson and Bazinga; it’s a whole new type of series.

I don’t want to give too much away, but boy, did she do a doozie on me, and I didn’t want the series to be over. I could definitely see this being a television show that could last for a while. This reminded me of Lost Girl, which ended way too soon, if you ask me. I don’t know who is not watching these shows enough for them to stay around, but I’m going to need my fantasy lovers to find these shows before they get canceled because I need good shows to watch because the re-runs, while good, are getting old and I need a new show to binge LOL.

Dark Rise by Kim Richardson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can’t get enough

If you read a Kim Richardson book, you don’t want to leave the world she creates.

I love this series. Robyn is in a league, and her band of misfits are conquering Hell. I love how the Author brings the story and world alive on the pages. I sit up in bed, so I can’t fall asleep to get a few more pages in!

How do you tell people you’ve fallen in love with fictional characters and don’t have time to talk to them because you’re too engrossed in a book to bother with their conversations? LOL, that’s how I have to explain this series.

The storyline is original, and the world is wholly conceptualized. The characters are developed in a way that you feel like you’ve known their story for years but not that you’ve met them in another book like some.

The originality makes you want to see what else Kim has up her sleeves. You come back for more, and I can’t wait for the next book to come out if you’re reading a series that isn’t complete yet.

Don’t wait too long, folks, because once you’re, you’re hooked.
