The Journey is Worthwhile

When I look back on my journey, I am quite pleased with the road that I have taken. I look at the picture of me holding my first published book, and I was so proud of myself and excited to be a published author.

This book is no longer available for sale, and I don’t want to change it at all. I hand drew all the pictures (I can’t draw). I edited it myself (My grammar is horrible). I knew nothing about character design, plots, and all the things that make up a good story.

The point in writing it was because I had a dream for so long, and I felt an urgency to follow it. I had been scared of ever doing something for myself, and I was going to start changing my life.

My first children’s book was more of a freedom book than a book for kids. I know that sounds kind of silly, but for me, it was a long road of redemption, and I haven’t stopped.

Someone told me, “I can see your improvement the more you write”. That means a lot to me because I am working harder on each book, and I am coming into this “Author” title. I am now twelve Children’s books on this journey.

Now, I know that I’m not the best-selling author or someone who people are flocking to the stories to read, but one day I have faith I will be all of those things. The thing is, it all starts with a dream, and it flourishes into so much more. The journey is the best part of life.

So many people get focused on the destination that they become paralyzed. I was paralyzed for 41 years of my life until I took the leap and decided to live. I’m so glad I did, wacky book and all.

Until next time my friends.
